Current research interests include the following: development of an intervention science for the design, dissemination, and evaluation of culturally compelling HIV/AIDS interventions; participatory action research (PAR) to further promote health and development; ethnographies of risk and vulnerability; HIV/AIDS prevention strategies in Canada, Malawi, Republic of South Africa (RSA), Uganda, and Zimbabwe; translational research. International professional associations with the African Medical Research Foundation (AMREF), the International Clinical Epidemiology Network (INCLEN), the Tanzanian Essential Health Initiatives Program (TEHIP), and the Salama SHIELD Foundation. Academic affiliations with Makerere University (Uganda) and the University of Cape Town (RSA).
